Who we are
Community Livelihood Development Forum (COLIDEF) is an NGO that is concerned with the improvement of livelihoods for economically disadvantaged people with a vision of alleviating poverty in the Lake Victoria Basin, Kenya.

Our ultimate aim is to provide livelihood development and diversification strategies through economic empowerment and promote gender equity and equality in the Lake Victoria Basin, Kenya.

We are independent, with no religious, political or governmental affiliations.

Our History
Our history goes back to 2002 when Dr. Jacob Kibwage conceived the idea of giving back to the community by supporting various disadvantaged groups in the society especially the orphans. That puts the child at the centre of our activities.

Since then, issues of HIV/AIDS and economic empowerment have remained part of the core activities that we do. He, therefore, became one of the founder members of COLIDEF. In 2003, the NGO was registered in Kenya under the NGO Coordination Act of 1990.
